Yellow Crane Tower
Yellow Crane Tower, together with Tengwang Pavilion Tower in Jiangxi province and Yueyang Tower in Hunan Province are regarded as the three most famous towers in the south China.
The yellow crane tower is ancient in lore and legend, and modern in structure. The original tower is presumed to be first built in about 220 AD. It has been destroyed and reconstructed for many times. The Tower was burned last in 1884, complete reconstruction took place in 1981.
The reconstruction used many modern materials and even have an elevator, yet in outward appearance and detail is true in spirit to the traditional design of the tower through the centuries. It is the sysmbol of Wuhan City.
Yellow Crane Tower is located on the top of Snake Hill in Wuchang.
